Privacy policy
GENERAL
1. This privacy policy (‘Privacy Policy’) governs the processing of your personal data as part of the use of our Mobile Web Application (‘Application’) and the services related thereto (collectively referred to as the ‘Services’). This processing is carried out by Technopolis NV, with its registered office at Technologielaan 1, 2800 Mechelen registered with the CBE under number 0461.430.087 in accordance with applicable legislation on the protection of personal data.
2. By ticking the checkbox stating ‘I declare that I have read the privacy policy.’, you declare that you have indeed read this Privacy Policy. You declare that you understand the purposes for which your personal data are processed.
3. Please note that we may use so-called ‘cookies’ or similar technology as part of the Application and/or the Services. Cookies are small text files placed on the hard disk of a device, which contain certain information, sometimes including personal data. 1. We process your personal data to enable you to have a richer experience when visiting Technopolis and to inform you about additional Technopolis initiatives if you wish.

We keep full details of the main user. The main user must always be over 13 years old. Main users are not allowed to create additional profiles for children under 13 without the consent of the legal representative or guardian. Profiles under the age of 13 will be able to create their own account after permission from their legal representatives.

Minors require extra attention in terms of privacy protection. If we need consent from a young person under 13, we ask this through their legal representative. Therefore, under-13s cannot create an account without the consent of their legal representative.

1. We will not transmit your personal data in an identifiable manner to third parties if this is not required to provide the Services, without your explicit consent to do so.
2. We may use third-party processors to provide you with the Application and/or Services. We will ensure that these third party processors may only process your personal data on our behalf, and upon written instructions from us. We ensure that all third-party processors are selected with due care to ensure the security and integrity of your personal data.
How we process data
1. We will only process personal data necessary to achieve the purposes set out in this Privacy Policy. We will process your personal data in a lawful, fair and transparent manner. We will keep personal data accurate and up-to-date.
2. Your personal data will only be processed for as long as necessary to achieve the purposes set out in this Privacy Policy or until such time as you withdraw your consent to its processing. We will take appropriate technical and organisational measures to keep your personal data safe from unauthorised access or theft and from accidental loss, manipulation or destruction. Access by our staff or staff of our third-party processors is only possible on a need-to-know basis and is subject to strict confidentiality obligations.
Your rights
1. You have the right to request access to any personal data we process about you.
2. You have the right to request that any personal data about you that is incorrect or inaccurate be corrected free of charge.
3. You have the right to withdraw your previously given consent to the processing of your personal data. You may withdraw your consent at any time by sending an e-mail to info@technopolis.be.
4. You have the right to request that personal data relating to you be deleted if it is no longer necessary in light of the purposes set out in this Privacy Policy or if you withdraw your consent to its processing. However, you should note that a deletion request will be assessed by us in light of legal or regulatory obligations or administrative or court orders that may prevent us from deleting the personal data in question.
5. In case of deletion, you may also request that we restrict the processing of your personal data if (a) you contest the accuracy of such data, (b) the processing is unlawful, (c) the data are no longer necessary for the stated purposes, but you need them to defend yourself in legal proceedings or (d) if you have exercised your right to object, pending a decision.
6. You have the right to object to the processing of personal data if the processing is based on a legitimate interest or a task of public interest or public authority. If the intended processing is classified as direct marketing, you have the right to object to such processing free of charge and without justification.
7. Where your personal data are processed on the basis of consent or on the basis of a contract and the processing is carried out by automated means, you have the right to receive the personal data you have provided to us in a structured, commonly used and machine-readable format and, if technically feasible, you have the right to transmit such data directly to another service provider. The technical feasibility of this will be assessed solely by us.
8. If you wish to make a request to exercise one or more of the rights mentioned above, please send an e-mail to dpo@technopolis.be. This request must clearly state which right you wish to exercise and why. It should also be dated, signed and accompanied by a digitally scanned copy of your valid ID card proving your identity. We will immediately inform you of the receipt of such request. If the request proves to be valid, we will comply with it as soon as reasonably possible, and at the latest within thirty (30) days of receipt of the request.
