Scholenworkshop Minecraft: Education Edition (NL)
Let your students programme the future
Welcome to a world of cubes where truly anything is possible! Your students probably already know this. We are talking about Minecraft, a game where the only limit is that of their own imagination.
During this workshop, we challenge third-grade primary and first-grade secondary students to design sustainable solutions for the future.
What is Minecraft: Education Edition?
The educational edition of Minecraft is a game in which your students are immersed in a world where anything is possible and where nothing is compulsory. These contain resources, animals, mountains, tunnels... In short, everything they need to build a world the way they envision it.
Who is it for?
Both very young children and young adults can play the game. Our workshop was developed to suit third-grade primary students and first-grade secondary students. Depending on the target group, we provide appropriate guidance.
What will we teach your students?
During the workshop, we will introduce your students to the world of Minecraft: Education Edition. After that, it is all up to them to get creative. Without a manual or ready-made instructions, they explore the limits of their own creativity and skills themselves and learn more than they ever imagined. Even coding!
They do not do this alone, because through gamification they also learn to work together and to solve problems. They are also encouraged to think computationally and communicate openly. These 21st century skills will give your students an extra push to take their future into their own hands.
What about after the workshop?
Once we get your students started, they can continue working in your classroom. We show you how Minecraft: Education Edition is the ideal way to keep your students engaged. The game covers a wide variety of topics, including environment, history, mathematics, art, languages, religion, coding...
