Triple pendulum
How does the exhibit work?
Pull the rope to set the pendulums in motion. Try to find the rhythm where the pendulums move in harmony.
What is the science behind it?
The rhythm of a pendulum depends on its length. With this unit, the lengths are chosen to have a simple relationship between them. As a result, the bullets swing in a harmonious rhythm.
Pendulums as swings
A swing is also a pendulum. Want to take a long time to go back and forth on a swing? Pick the swing with the longest rope. Oppositely, the swing with the shortest rope is the fastest.
